OREANDA-NEWS Exchange prices for gas in Europe have dropped to their lowest level since last spring. This is evidenced by trading data on the London stock exchange ICE.
Since the opening of the site on Wednesday, January futures for blue fuel on the TTF hub index in the Netherlands have fallen by more than two percent. The cost dropped to $323.1 (minus 2.3 percent) per thousand cubic meters, the lowest level since May 2024. During trading, the price of gas fell to $ 319.5 (minus 3.4 percent).
The annual average price of futures contracts on the trading floor was $386.5, 16.3 percent lower than a year earlier. According to analysts, price changes are influenced by higher than forecast air temperatures, which reduces fuel consumption, as well as concerns about the rapid depletion of reserves.
From January to November 2025, Russian LNG exports decreased by two percent to 28.4 million tons. Shipments to Europe fell by 16 percent to 12.3 million tons.
