Gazprom and CNPC discussed the design of a gas pipeline through Mongolia

OREANDA-NEWS Representatives of Gazprom and the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) held a meeting of the coordination committee on January 11. Representatives of the Russian company informed their Chinese colleagues about the design of the Soyuz Vostok gas pipeline. The purpose of the pipeline is to supply Russian gas to China through the territory of Mongolia.
The press service of the Russian company noted that the meeting was held under the leadership of the deputy chairmen of the Gazprom Management Board Vitaly Markelov and Elena Burmistrova. CNPC Vice President Huang Yun Zhang took part in the dialogue.
Among other things, the parties agreed on the dates of preventive maintenance on the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. They should take place in the spring and autumn of this year. The meeting raised the issue of implementing agreements on gas purchase and sale agreements signed in February 2022. In addition, we considered the possibilities of cooperation in the field of underground gas storage.
