In Europe did not wait for the filling of gas storage facilities

OREANDA-NEWS Three days ago, European countries began using gas from underground storage facilities (UGS). The fact that Europe did not wait for the storage facilities to be filled, TASS reports with reference to data from Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).
As of October 15, fuel extraction from UGS facilities in the European Union amounted to 170 million cubic meters, and injection was reduced to 52 million cubic meters. The achieved reserve level is the ninth for October for the entire observation period — 91.5 billion cubic meters.
Currently, the storage facilities are 82.93 percent full (8.55 percentage points lower than the average for this date over the past five years) versus 95 percent a year earlier. The total selection is 26 percent higher than the average for the previous five years. At the same time, according to the requirements of the European Commission (EC), from October 1 to December 1, the member countries of the association must ensure that their gas storage facilities are filled by 90 percent.
According to the results of the first eight months of 2025, Russia's total revenues from gas supplies to EU countries increased to 9.75 billion euros. During the reporting period, purchases of pipeline fuel amounted to 4.1 billion euros, and of liquefied natural gas (LNG) — 5.7 billion. As a result, Russian exporters' revenues from gas supplies to Europe increased by 7.8 percent year-on-year. France became the main importer (251 million euros), Belgium (139 million) and Spain (67 million) entered the top 3.
