OREANDA-NEWS The Russian authorities have ruled out the introduction of a ban on the export of gasoline. This was told by the head of the Ministry of Energy Nikolay Shulginov, his words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

According to the Minister of Energy, the department does not consider such an issue, only the reduction of exports is being discussed.

Earlier, the fact that the Russian authorities are considering the possibility of introducing a ban on the export of gasoline, with reference to sources, was reported by Reuters. After that, the Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) announced that it was ready to support the restriction of exports of petroleum products, if such a mechanism was proposed.

In conversation with Leading Analyst of the National Energy Security Fund (NSF) Igor Yushkov said that the ban on gasoline exports from Russia is unlikely to lead to lower prices on the domestic market, rather oil companies will reduce the volume of refining.
