OREANDA-NEWS The Kazakh authorities are discussing the issue of transit of Russian gas through their territory to Uzbekistan. This was announced to journalists on Tuesday by Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev.

"Currently, the possibility of transit of Russian gas to Uzbekistan is being discussed. The negotiations are going on in a rather constructive manner. We will certainly inform you about the results," he said.

As the Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan noted, negotiations are also underway on the possible construction of a gas pipeline from Russia to China. "The issue of building a gas pipeline from Russia through the northern territories of Kazakhstan to China is being discussed. The route has been preliminarily determined, the conditions for the construction of this gas pipeline are being discussed," he explained.

In April 2023, the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, announced that gas supplies to Uzbekistan from Russia are planned to be carried out via the Central Asia - Center main gas pipeline.
