OREANDA-NEWS Oil imports to Turkey rose by 10% in April, allowing Russia to remain the leader in supplying this fuel, Anadolu reported, citing the country's Energy Market Control and Regulation Authority, Gazeta.ru reported.

It is noted that Turkish imports of oil and oil products in April 2022 increased by 10.1% compared to the same month last year - up to 3,933,497 tons.

According to the agency, imports of crude oil from Russia rose by 15.5%, to 3.016 million tons. At the same time, supplies of diesel fuel for the same period fell by 16.6%, to 656.8 thousand tons. The article added that the rest of the imports consisted of aviation and ship fuel, gasoline, fuel oil and other petroleum products.

Earlier, "16 haber" newspaper reported that in the Turkish city of Adana in two wells were discovered oil, whose reserves are estimated at about $1 billion.
