OREANDA-NEWS. The company "Naftogaz of Ukraine" on Friday is going to supply 500 thousand cubic meters of gas to the Moldovan company S.A. Energocom, as the press service of the company reports.

"The national joint-stock company Naftogaz of Ukraine won the first tender to supply gas to the Moldovan state-owned company S.A. Energocom, according to which 500,000 cubic meters of gas will be transported today, October 29," the statement said.

The company noted that Naftogaz will continue to participate in tenders for the purchase of additional volumes of gas by the Moldovan side.

"If the tender proposal is approved, Naftogaz is ready to supply the required volumes of gas to Moldova," the company said.

The Ukrainian edition of Economic Truth on Monday, citing a source in the Ukrainian government, reported that Naftogaz of Ukraine had signed a framework agreement with Moldovan Energocom on the supply of up to 700 million cubic meters of gas to Moldova if necessary. The Prime Minister of Moldova Natalia Gavrilitsa then denied this information. Later, the press service of Naftogaz, in a commentary to RBC-Ukraine, reported that the company had nevertheless signed a framework agreement on gas supply with Moldovan Energocom, but the document did not contain fixed volumes and prices.

The company "Gazprom" on October 1 extended the contract with Moldova for the supply of gas for a month. The Moldovagaz company reported on October 6 that gas consumption in Moldova temporarily exceeds the supply of fuel from the Russian Federation, which may also lead to problems with the supply of electricity. On October 22, the country's parliament introduced a state of emergency in the country due to the energy crisis, so that it would be possible to quickly allocate funds from the budget for the purchase of additional volumes of gas in order to maintain pressure in the gas pipeline.
