OREANDA-NEWS  OPEC+ countries have agreed to jointly monitor the global shipping safety situation to stabilize it and continue meetings to balance the global oil market, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said.

Novak noted that attacks on civilian vessels carrying oil and petroleum products are currently taking place in different parts of the world. This causes an increase in the cost of oil transportation.

"We have agreed (in OPEC+ - ed.) to jointly monitor the situation and work with international organizations, the International Energy Agency, in order to stabilize this situation. And we agreed that we will continue our meetings in order to discuss such issues by consensus and jointly make decisions aimed at balancing the market," Novak said in an interview with Vesti news agency.
