OREANDA-NEWS  Pipeline gas supplies from Russia to China will grow by 60% in 2022, the head of Rosneft, Igor Sechin, said at the Russian-Chinese Energy Forum. According to him, quoted by TASS, gas reserves in Eastern Siberia and the Far East, which can be supplied to China, exceed 2 trillion cubic meters.

Today, relatively small volumes of LNG are exported from Russia to China, but in the future, the volumes of LNG supplies may become comparable with supplies under pipeline projects," Sechin said.

According to him, Rosneft has always advocated integral cooperation with China along the entire technological chain, and the Russian-Chinese trade turnover may reach $180-190 billion by the end of the year. Thus, the volume of oil exports from Russia to China in January — October 2022 increased by 9.5% and amounted to almost 72 million tons, and electricity supplies from Russia to China increased by 33% in 10 months of 2022. Russian coal supplies to China for 10 months amounted to 53 million tons. According to Sechin, Rosneft is the main Russian supplier of oil to China and provides 7% of China's total demand for raw materials.

Sechin also added that Vostok Oil will provide long-term reliable energy supplies to Asian countries and reduce price volatility. The volume of oil production at the Vostok Oil project will reach 115 million tons by 2033, which is 2.5% of the current world production.
