OREANDA-NEWS  President Vladimir Putin said that Russia continues to supply gas to Europe through Ukraine. He said this at a meeting with the heads of the world's news agencies within the framework of the SPIEF. The broadcast is conducted by the Telegram channel "Kremlin. News".

"There were two pipeline systems. The Ukrainian side closed one of them — screwed on the valve, just closed it, and that's it. Although there are no grounds," the head of state clarified.

Putin explained that Russian gas goes to Europe through the second system, European consumers continue to receive fuel, in addition, it is supplied via the Turkish Stream.

Earlier it was reported that the European Union will not ask Ukraine to extend the agreement on the transit of Russian gas after it expires in 2024. Tim McPhee, a representative of the European Commission, said at a briefing in Brussels that the country was unwilling to push this step.
