OREANDA-NEWS   Rosneft and Mongolia are going to deepen comprehensive cooperation in the field of energy. This was discussed at a working meeting between Igor Sechin, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft, and Gombozhavyn Zandanshatar, Chairman of the Great State Hural of Mongolia.

During the negotiations, the parties, in particular, touched upon issues, including the supply of petroleum products and oil to Mongolia, as well as the modernization of the energy generating capacities of the capital of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar.

Rosneft has been operating in the Mongolian oil products market since 2005. During this time, the Russian company reliably provides Mongolia with fuel and has delivered a total of 13.7 million tons of petroleum products to the country.

One of the key topics of the working meeting was the discussion of the stability of supply pricing. Igor Sechin and Gombozhavyn Zandanshatar confirmed their commitment to the previously reached agreements on the use of a flexible market approach in setting the price of petroleum products.

The parties also discussed the issue of reliability and continuity of supplies. The head of Rosneft and the Speaker of the Mongolian parliament agreed on compensatory measures in case of force majeure of future and previous periods. We are talking about replenishing the volume of petroleum products that were not delivered in June 2023 due to overstocking of railway tracks on the territory of Mongolia. According to the agreements reached, this volume will be compensated in the coming months.

Igor Sechin and Gombozhavyn Zandanshatar drew attention to the importance of creating reserves to ensure the stability of the energy market. In connection with the upcoming scheduled repair of the Angarsk Group of oil refineries of Rosneft, in the coming months the company will increase the volume of fuel exports to Mongolia.

During the meeting, the significant contribution of the Great Hural of Mongolia to the adoption in December 2022 of amendments to the legislation of the republic, which made it possible to supply aviation fuel to the fuel filling complex of the new modern airport "Genghis Khan" in Ulaanbaatar, was noted.

The heads of Rosneft and the Mongolian parliament noted the friendly nature of bilateral relations between the countries. "Mongolia is our strategic partner in the field of energy. We guarantee the reliability of supplies to the country," Igor Sechin summed up.
