OREANDA-NEWS  India continues to buy Russian oil. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, quoted by RIA Novosti.

Speaking to reporters, US President Donald Trump called the trade talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi excellent. According to him, India allegedly almost completely stopped buying oil from Russia.

After the American leader's speech, Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov stressed that New Delhi did not abandon energy resources from Russia, contrary to Trump's words.

"Russia is India's fourth largest trading partner with $70 billion and the most significant contribution to energy security," the diplomat said.

Reliance Industries, India's largest buyer of Russian oil, has acquired millions of barrels of hydrocarbon in the Middle East and the United States after Washington imposed sanctions on major Russian oil companies. In addition, India's state-owned oil refineries began checking contracts for oil supplies from Russia.
