OREANDA-NEWS The volume of deliveries of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Russia in October was the highest this year and reached the level of 2.98 million tons. This is reported by Kommersant with reference to the data of Kpler analysts.

According to experts, the increase was achieved largely due to the growth of LNG supplies to Japan and the completion of planned repairs at key plants. At the same time, in annual terms, the volume of Russian fuel supplies decreased by 4.9 percent.

According to the results of the first ten months, a total of 26.18 million tons of LNG were shipped from the country, which turned out to be 3.8 percent lower compared to the same period in 2022. Analysts expect that due to prolonged repair work, the total LNG production in Russia by the end of 2023 will not be able to reach last year's level. Asia and Europe became the key market participants for Russia — they accounted for 12.8 and 12.35 million tons of fuel, respectively. Russia sent another 0.5 million tons to Turkey. At the same time, China was the main buyer of Russian fuel, analysts concluded.

Earlier, OPEC reported an increase in the supply of another type of Russian fuel to Asian countries. Thus, by the end of September, Russia managed to outpace its main oil competitor, Saudi Arabia, in terms of raw material exports to China and India. By the end of the first month of autumn, Russia accounted for a total of 19 percent of the total import of raw materials to China and 36 percent to India.
