OREANDA-NEWS Oil companies have learned how to restore the operation of oil refineries faster after the attacks of the Kiev regime. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, quoted by TASS.

At a plenary meeting of the Federation Council, a representative of the Cabinet of Ministers said that the authorities were working on measures to support the refinery and postpone the modernization. Also, Russian companies partially use the opportunities to import gasoline.

"Our main task now is to balance car gasoline. And here I would like to thank the Federation Council once again for supporting the draft law that was adopted on amendments to the Tax Code, which creates incentives to ensure the import of motor gasoline into the territory of the Russian Federation. And this measure is temporary, I can say, because our production capacity for the production of gasoline is 10-15 percent higher than domestic consumption," Novak explained.

During a speech at the plenary session of the Valdai International Discussion Club, President Vladimir Putin said that Russia had lost about a percentage of GDP due to Ukrainian strikes on oil refineries.

Earlier, The New York Times (NYT) admitted that Trump tacitly supported attacks on Russian oil refineries in 2025. The head of the White House viewed these attacks as a tool of pressure on Moscow. "The plan was to focus exclusively on refineries, and not on oil storage facilities, but on the plants themselves. These blows gave him leverage," the article says.
