OREANDA-NEWS  In the near future, Russia will introduce a ban on the export of diesel fuel for manufacturers in order to avoid its shortage and stop the increase in stock prices. The relevant decision was made at a meeting of the headquarters on fuel supply for the domestic market of petroleum products, which took place on the eve of October 2 at the Ministry of Energy. Izvestia writes about this with reference to a source.

Earlier, the government extended the ban on gasoline exports until the end of the year, and also imposed restrictions that do not apply to manufacturers, on the sale abroad of diesel and marine fuel, as well as gas oil. Nevertheless, as stated in the appeal of the Russian Fuel Union (RTS) to Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, the measures taken have not yet helped to stabilize the market situation.

The situation with diesel fuel does not look as difficult as with gasoline, but there is also a "decrease in sales of exchange-traded goods and an increase in shipping times." These circumstances disrupted the balance of supply and demand, led to an increase in the wholesale cost of the product and reset the profitability of retail sales.
