OREANDA-NEWS By the end of January 2026, the total volume of offshore Russian oil supplies to India decreased by 36 percent compared to the same period in 2025. A sharp decrease in exports of raw materials to the key market for the Russian Federation is reported in the Telegram channel of the Institute of Energy and Finance (IEF).

During the reporting period, Russian oil companies shipped a total of 4.5 million tons of raw materials to India by sea. On a monthly basis, the indicator sank by 11 percent, analysts said. "Statistics confirm the gradual withdrawal of a significant part of Russian oil from India," the experts stated.

In general, they added, it can already be stated that the increased US pressure on India on the issue of importing Russian oil has proved effective. The authorities of the Asian country have sharply reduced the volume of purchases without any official statements.
