OREANDA-NEWS. The European Union, as part of anti-Russian sanctions, has banned the sale, supply, transfer or export to Russia of equipment for oil refining and liquefaction of natural gas (LNG). This was reported by Interfax with reference to the relevant EU document.

It is noted that it does not matter whether this equipment was created on the territory of the European Union or outside it. Sale is prohibited both to companies, there and to any persons related to the Russian Federation; the equipment must not be used on Russian territory.

We are talking about the following components: technological installations for gas cooling in the LNG process, installations for the separation and fractionation of hydrocarbons in the LNG process, installations for the liquefaction of natural gas, etc.

Sanctions also apply to equipment related to oil refining: alkylation and isomerization units, aromatic hydrocarbon production units, atmospheric vacuum oil distillation units, hydrogen extraction and purification technology, etc.

Earlier it became known that the EU is preparing the sixth package of sanctions against the Russian Federation with "oil options"
