OREANDA-NEWS Moscow and Laos are working on the first delivery of Russian petroleum products to the country. This was announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak in a comment to Izvestia, which was published on Telegram.

"Almost all countries are interested in receiving petroleum products, oil, and gas resources from Russia, as Russia has proven to be a stable and reliable supplier of energy resources to global markets in the current crisis," the official emphasized.

Novak emphasized Moscow's interest in new long-term contracts for the supply of petroleum products, and also spoke about the processing of applications from international partners by Russian companies. The Deputy Prime Minister noted an almost twofold increase in trade turnover with Laos in 2025, including due to high-value-added engineering products.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with his Lao counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith at the Kremlin. The President of Laos expressed gratitude to Putin for the warm welcome in Moscow.
