OREANDA-NEWS  The head of the French energy company TotalEnergies, Patrick Pouyanne, believes that European countries may face gas shortages in the coming winter. This was stated by the entrepreneur, speaking at the forum "Economic Meetings of Aix-en-Provence", the CNews TV channel reports.

Gas storage facilities will be filled in October, however, according to Pouyanne, if the winter in Europe is cold, in order to meet demand during the winter season, these reserves will not be enough.

Pouyanne noted that in this case, gas will have to be purchased at higher prices. He stressed that there can be no "friendly prices" in a market where everything depends on supply and demand.

Earlier it was reported that Russia in June became the first gas supplier to Spain in terms of volumes. It is noted that in the first half of 2023, Spain purchased almost twice as much LNG from the Russian Federation as in the same period last year. At the same time, in general, in 2022, the volume of LNG purchased by the kingdom from Russia increased by 45% compared to 2021.

Earlier it became known when oil prices will fall to $ 50 per barrel.
