OREANDA-NEWS   The Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic, Fatih Donmez, said that Ankara does not intend to impose any restrictions on the gas hub being created in Istanbul.

According to the Turkish minister, market mechanisms for the sale of natural gas will operate on this platform.

Answering the question about how the hub will work in the conditions of sanctions against Russia, Donmez pointed out that Turkey is not going to interfere in the relationship between the seller and the buyer and restrict transactions.

Earlier, Alexey Belogoryev, Deputy Chief Director for the energy direction of the Institute of Energy and Finance (IEF), said that the creation of a gas hub in Turkey does not make much sense if it is not supported by the leadership of the European Union. According to him, in order to receive large volumes of gas from this hub, European countries must, firstly, guarantee demand for many years to come, and secondly, create expensive infrastructure on their territory.
