OREANDA-NEWS Russia was able to almost double the supply of turkey to Benin. This was reported by "Agroexport".
It turned out that from January to August 2026, Russia exported to Benin over 6.5 thousand tons of these products worth more than $ 20 million. Compared to the same period last year, exports increased 1.5 times in physical terms and 1.9 times in value.
It is specified that this is a record figure for the first eight months of a calendar year in the entire history of observations.
Earlier it was reported that in the first six months of 2026, turkey sales in Russia jumped by 17 percent year-on-year and reached 42 thousand tons. In monetary terms, the growth was 22 percent. At the same time, sales of chicken fillets in physical terms increased by 5.2 percent, to 325.3 thousand tons.
Since the beginning of the year, beef prices in Russia have risen by about 11 percent. Poultry rose in price by 8 percent.
