OREANDA-NEWS Brazil can become a transport hub for Russia in Latin America, through which Russian goods will be distributed to other countries of the continent, Boris Titov, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for relations with international organizations for achieving sustainable Development Goals, said at SPIEF.
"Brazil is the host country of the next BRICS summit, which will be held very soon. This is a good reason to step up our business contacts. The question arises: can Brazil become a kind of transport hub through which our goods will be distributed to other countries of the continent?" - He said.
According to Titov, who heads the Russia-Cuba business Council, the Russian side has already discussed the intensification of trade in the South American direction with Cuban colleagues.
"And from the point of view of logistics, of course, the situation suggests that the center of trade should be a country from the Caribbean. But Brazil, of course, can be the recipient of this entire logistics chain," Titov emphasized.
He cited cooperation with China as an example.
"Sales of Russian goods for the consumer market are growing very rapidly there today. Not only food products, but also plastic and wood products. We even make such markets for Russian goods and offer Brazilian partners to repeat such a business idea with us," concluded the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation.
The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is taking place from 18 to 21 June. RIA Novosti is the information partner of the forum.
