OREANDA-NEWS Russia has boosted its exports of vodka to China, as reported by the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China. This information was cited by Interfax.

According to the data, in the first quarter of this year, China imported vodka worth approximately $0.75 million from Russia. This represents a 2.7-fold increase compared to the same period last year. In terms of quantity, 318 tons of vodka were sold, which is three times more than a year ago.

It is worth noting that Russia is one of the four major suppliers of vodka to China. Sweden tops the list with 744 tons, followed by Italy with 502 tons. Belarusian vodka exports were estimated at 386 tons.

At the end of March, it was reported that Latvia had become one of the main buyers of Russian vodka by the end of last year, doubling its imports of this beverage. Kazakhstan also emerged as a significant importer, purchasing alcohol worth $32 million.

In Russia, during the period from January to February 2025, the sales of vodka decreased by 5.1% to 11.492 million decaliters.
