OREANDA-NEWS  In the first seven months of 2026, alcohol turnover (excluding beer, beer drinks, cider, poiret and mead) through distributors decreased by 28.2 percent year-on-year, to 228.5 million decaliters. This is with reference to the calculations of the analytical project A.List, based on data from the Rosstat EMISS service, writes Kommersant.

Vodka's wholesale sales collapsed the most significantly — minus 32.6 percent, 83.3 million decaliters. Wine products lost 28.1 percent (82.6 million decaliters), distilleries — 21.3 percent (24.8 million decaliters), and cognac — 17 percent (15.8 million decaliters).

However, experts remind that one party can participate in several wholesale transactions, so the real drop in wholesale sales is still less than the figures indicated.

Andrey Moskovsky, President of the Alcopro Guild, explained the trend by changes in the previous supply chain. Manufacturers are increasingly working directly with federal networks, so intermediaries are becoming less in demand. Many large retail chains have developed their own distribution centers and logistics, so they are able to cope on their own.
