OREANDA-NEWS  The Swedish furniture and household goods manufacturer IKEA, which left Russia, retained the possibility of an operational return to the country's market by extending the validity period of the right to its own trademark until 2033. Mash writes about this.

As journalists learned, Rospatent's decision refers to the logo, the list of company services and the right to officially sell their goods. The relevant application was submitted in August last year and was satisfied the other day.

In the summer of 2022, IKEA announced its complete withdrawal from Russia. The company sold four factories and laid off all employees in the country. The assets were acquired by two local lumber companies, Luzales and Slotex.

Earlier it became known that the Federal Tax Service of Russia asked the Arbitration Court near Moscow to invalidate the deal of the Russian "daughter" IKEA (IKEA Torg LLC) for 13 billion rubles with Fami Ltd in Ireland. Experts believe that the tax authorities could consider the transfer of money to a foreign company as the withdrawal of assets from the Russian structure of the retailer and intend to be able to recover them against tax debts.
