OREANDA-NEWS  The average price per kilogram of cucumbers in Russia in May decreased to 138.2 rubles, the lowest since October last year, according to Rosstat data analyzed by RIA Novosti.

So, in May, the cost of cucumbers was 138.2 rubles per kilogram against 202.92 rubles in April. The last time they were cheaper was in October last year - 134.3 rubles per kilogram.

The cheapest cucumbers in Russia are in the Ulyanovsk region, where they will cost an average of 88 rubles, as well as in Dagestan (88.3 rubles) and Kalmykia (92.2 rubles).

In addition, the prices of tomatoes have dropped to the lowest level since November - at the end of spring they cost 220.9 rubles against 281.3 rubles in April.

The most budget-friendly tomatoes are also in Dagestan and Kalmykia - a kilogram costs 152.2 and 158.4 rubles, respectively. The Orel region also enters the top three with 166 rubles per kilogram of tomatoes.
