OREANDA-NEWS  As early as May, strawberry prices in Russia will fall by two to three times. This was announced by Igor Balynin, an associate professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, in an interview with the Prime agency.

He stressed that this would happen due to the imminent appearance on the market of berries grown in the territory of the Russian Federation. "This is a consequence, firstly, of a smaller delivery shoulder (compared to berries supplied from abroad), and secondly, of a smaller number of intermediaries," the specialist explained.

He added that in addition to the decline in berry prices in the country, the cost of foreign electronics will decrease significantly. According to him, this can be attributed to the strengthening of the ruble, as well as the introduction of US customs duties on imports from China.

Earlier it became known that price growth has slowed down in Russia. According to the Ministry of Economic Development, annual inflation slowed last week to 10.21 percent.
