OREANDA-NEWS   The demand for instant printing cameras in Russia in 2022 decreased by 33% compared to the indicator for 2021, a total of 93.7 thousand such cameras were purchased last year. This is stated in the message of the labeling operator of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT).

"According to the National System of Digital Labeling of goods "Honest Sign", 93.7 thousand instant printing cameras were sold in Russia in 2022. This is 33% less than in 2021, when the country's citizens purchased 138.7 thousand of such products," the report says.,

"The fashion for lomography is gradually fading away, now such a technique is rather a niche product for parties. In monetary terms, sales decreased by 14% over the year, from 685 million rubles in 2021 to 590 million rubles in 2022. The drop in demand is also explained by the pressure of smartphones on the market of photographic equipment. To date, the quality of photos of some smartphones can compete with professional equipment, not to mention instant cameras," said Revaz Yusupov, Deputy Director General of the Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies, whose words are quoted in the message.

According to experts, Fujifilm has become the most popular brand among Russians (91.4% of total sales). This is followed by Kodak (4.5%), Lomography (1.4%), Polaroid (0.27%), Canon (0.18%). The leaders in sales of such photographic equipment in 2022 were Primorsky Krai, where 10.8 units of production per thousand people, then St. Petersburg (3.5 units), Moscow (2.2 units).
