OREANDA-NEWS The Russian division of the German sportswear manufacturer Adidas may be transferred to foreign investors, Kommersant reports, citing sources.

One of the interlocutors of the newspaper said that thanks to this, Adidas can restart about a hundred Russian stores that brought the most revenue.

In March last year, the company suspended the operation of its stores in the country. The online store has also stopped working, it is not available to this day.

The German TV and radio company Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) noted that under the management of Adidas there are about 500 stores in Russia and CIS countries, this region brought the company 3% of total sales.

As Kommersant points out, the Russian division of Adidas is trying to maintain its activities: for example, it subleased its office space and warehouses in the Moscow region. However, its revenue more than doubled last year, to 25 billion rubles; net loss exceeded net profit twice (8 billion rubles against 4 billion rubles).
