OREANDA-NEWS From January to May, the sales of vodka in Russia decreased by 5.8% compared to the same period last year, reaching 29.25 million decaliters, according to TASS, citing data from Rosalkogol tobacco Control.

During this time, the sales of cognac and grape wines also declined in the Russian Federation. The sales of these products decreased by 11.4% and 1.7%, respectively, to 5.16 and 22.4 million decaliters.

At the same time, the sales of alcoholic beverages increased by 14%, reaching 7.2 million decaliters. Overall, the sales of alcohol with a strength of more than 9% decreased by 2.9%, reaching 47.26 million decaliters.

Earlier in June, it was reported that vodka production in Russia decreased by 13.2% in the first five months of 2025, reaching 25 million decaliters. The total volume of alcoholic beverages production decreased even more sharply — by 20.4%, reaching 59.97 million decaliters.
