OREANDA-NEWS Rosselkhoznadzor announced the introduction of a regime of enhanced quality control of fish products from Japan for radiological indicators. This is stated in the press release of the department.

It is clarified that if the maximum permissible level of radionuclides is exceeded, the agency will limit supplies. The decision was made in connection with the beginning of the discharge of purified water from the reservoirs of the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant into the Pacific Ocean.

Earlier, the Rosselkhoznadzor clarified that the volume of imports of fish products from Japan is insignificant. Rosrybolovstvo also noted that in the last three years, the supply of Japanese fish products to Russia has fallen by 93 percent.

On August 24, the Japanese authorities began dumping purified water from the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant into the ocean.
