OREANDA-NEWS Boris Titov, the Presidential Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs, who is also the chairman of the Russia-Cuba Business Council, spoke about the increase in the supply of Cuban rum to Russia and the production of special varieties of the drink by Russian-Cuban producers.

"Part of the usual Cuban rum is already on the way. Now several companies, including the company to which I am related, are negotiating to increase the supply of Cuban rum, as well as the production of special varieties of rum there, we are at the stage of signing contracts," he told Interfax on the sidelines of the SPIEF.

According to him, we are talking about the production by Russian companies together with Cuban partners of aged Cuban rum produced using special low-distillation technologies.

Titov noted that the Cuban market is attractive for various areas of investment. The Business Ombudsman recalled that currently a Russian trading house is preparing to open in Cuba, where Russian consumer goods will be sold.

"There will be a large assortment of Russian goods to be sold in Havana. These are household chemicals, sports products, and food products that can be brought to Cuba - meat, dairy products, and confectionery. By the way, Cubans are especially waiting for confectionery products," the commissioner said.

In addition, he noted that such Russian automakers as UAZ and AvtoVAZ are now considering the possibility of transferring the assembly of cars to Cuba, as well as to establish the sale of domestic cars there.
