OREANDA-NEWS Russia bought flowers abroad for almost $ 46 million before September 1, the Federal Customs Service (FCS) reported, RIA Novosti reports.

Mostly freshly cut flowers are imported from the Netherlands and Ecuador. In total, the customs authorities have processed more than 6.4 thousand tons of this product worth more than $ 45.8 million.

The most popular flowers are roses, their share is 35 percent, chrysanthemums are in second place (28 percent), the share of other plants for making bouquets, such as phlox, hydrangeas, alstroemeria and others, was 27 percent.

Earlier it was reported that on September 1 in Moscow, the air temperature may rise to plus 28 degrees Celsius. The hot beginning of autumn in the capital was predicted by the head of Yandex Weather, Alexander Ganshin.
