OREANDA-NEWS Since the beginning of this year, the total volume of supplies of products from the Russian agro-industrial complex to the Middle East has increased by almost a third compared to the same period in 2025. Oksana Lut, head of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, announced a sharp increase in exports, as quoted by the Izvestia newspaper.
Shipments to this region increased by 15 percent in value terms, the head of the department said. The countries of the Middle East are an important market for Russian farmers. Domestic farmers are ready to increase exports in the future, stated Lut.
Against the background of the war in Iran, Russian agricultural exporters had to rebuild logistics, the minister noted. Despite this, supplies in one of the key areas did not stop. By now, domestic suppliers have managed to adapt to the changed realities, concluded Lut.
In this agricultural season, she explained earlier, a total of 60 million tons of grain will be exported from Russia. The total harvest for the 2025/2026 harvest season was estimated by Lut at 144.6 million tons. The increase was 11 percent. According to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev, these indicators will help meet the needs of both domestic and foreign markets.
