Russia has increased crab exports to record levels

OREANDA-NEWS From January to May 2026, Russia exported crabs worth 930 million dollars. These data from Agroexport were quoted by the Interfax news agency.
We are talking about the supply of almost 34 thousand tons of these products, which is 11 percent more than in the same period of 2025. Export revenue increased by 26 percent. It is noted that both indicators turned out to be record-breaking for this time. In January-May of last year, we were talking about more than 30,000 tons, which brought Russia over $ 735 million.
China's share in export revenue is estimated at 61 percent. South Korea accounted for 38 percent.
In the first four months of 2026, China's imports of Russian live crabs increased by 20 percent in physical terms and by 30 percent in monetary terms. Shipments totaled 13,000 tons worth $428 million. Overall, exports of Russian fish and seafood to China increased by 13 percent in physical terms and 46 percent in monetary terms.
