Russia has increased liquor imports from the EU to a historic high

OREANDA-NEWS Liquor exports from the European Union to Russia almost tripled in March this year and reached a historic high, RIA Novosti found out after analyzing data from Eurostat.
In March 2026, sales of European liquor to Russia increased 2.6 times year-on-year, to almost 10 million euros. At the same time, there was a 52.5% increase in shipments on a monthly basis.
In addition, Russia bought 19 million euros worth of whiskey from the EU in March, which is 2.4 times more than last year. The association also supplied tinctures made from grapes to the Russian Federation - 5.02 million euros (+34%), vodka - 1.2 million (1.6 times more), gin - 715.8 thousand euros (-7%), rum - 610 thousand euros (-23%).
Supplies of other types of strong alcohol amount to 3.4 million euros, which is 29% more than a year earlier.
Most of all in the first quarter, whiskey (46.8 million euros), liqueur (21.1 million), grape infusions (17.5 million), vodka (2.7 million), rum (almost 2 million) and gin (1.7 million) arrived in Russia from the EU.
