Russia has increased meat imports from Brazil by two thirds

OREANDA-NEWS Supplies of livestock and poultry meat from Brazil to Russia in July increased by 64% compared to June, to $ 66.5 million, according to data from the Brazilian statistical service, which was studied by RIA Novosti.
At the same time, Brazilian meat exports to Russia increased by a modest 5% year-on-year. In total, in January-July, shipments reached $371.2 million, which is 31% more than in the same period a year earlier.
The overwhelming share of these supplies is traditionally occupied by frozen cattle meat - 61.8 million dollars in July. This is 1.8 times more than in June and 11% more than a year ago.
Brazil also exported to Russia frozen parts of carcasses and offal of domestic chickens - for 1.63 million dollars (-4% per month), offal of cattle - for 1.58 million (-45%) and pork - for 1.5 million (an increase of 2.1 times).
In total, Brazil exported meat worth $2.74 billion in July. Russia ranks 10th among the largest buyers. A month ago it was the 14th, and a year earlier it was the 9th. At the same time, China ($675.6 million), Chile ($168.6 million), Japan ($164.8 million), the United States ($163.3 million) and Saudi Arabia ($155.3 million) bought the most Brazilian-made meat.
