Russia has increased the supply of fertilizers to the post-Soviet country

OREANDA-NEWS In the first half of 2026, Kyrgyzstan increased imports of Russian fertilizers by almost two thirds. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the data of the state service of the post-Soviet country.
From January to June, Kyrgyzstan purchased fertilizers from Russia for $ 20.3 million (almost 6 million tons), 1.6 times more in annual terms. At the same time, the total import of fertilizers by the republic increased by 26 percent. As a result, Russia's share in Kyrgyz imports rose from 40 to 50 percent.
Kyrgyzstan was more active in purchasing nitrogen fertilizers from the Russian Federation (for a total of 13.6 million dollars), mixed fertilizers (for 6.4 million dollars), potash fertilizers (for 181.6 thousand) and fertilizers of animal and plant origin (for 17.4 thousand dollars).
In addition to Russia, the top 5 largest suppliers include Uzbekistan ($15.8 million), Kazakhstan ($2.3 million), Turkey ($365.1 thousand) and Spain ($297.3 thousand).
Earlier it became known that in the first half of 2026, Kyrgyzstan imported $47.1 million worth of Russian wheat. This result turned out to be 4.8 times higher than that recorded in the same period last year. This means that Russia has become the main supplier of wheat to Kyrgyzstan. Previously, this position was occupied by Kazakhstan.
