Russia has introduced a new restriction on products from Armenia

OREANDA-NEWS Since Monday, July 27, Russia has banned the supply of dairy products from Armenia from those enterprises for which restrictions had not previously been in effect. This is stated in a message on the Rosselkhoznadzor website.
The reason for this decision is an inspection conducted from July 14 to 21, which showed that milk from infected livestock, as well as raw materials from third countries, is used in production.
The press service stressed that similar violations were recorded in 2023 and 2024. At that time, no restrictions were imposed, but now the Rosselkhoznadzor has immediately taken measures to prevent the introduction of particularly dangerous infections into Russia and the sale of dangerous products on the market.
"It is once again confirmed that Armenia is not coping with the control of agricultural producers, including due to the consequences of the 2019 government reform," the Russian ministry concluded.
The campaign to ban Armenian products began in May amid Moscow's claims against Yerevan for trying to improve relations with the European Union. Since then, supplies of tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, green crops, strawberries, mineral water, fish, fish products, cherries, cherries, apricots, plums, peaches, nectarines, grapes, dried fruits, eggplants, potatoes and flowers have been limited.
The head of the Rosselkhoznadzor, Sergei Dankvert, denies the connection of mass bans with politics. According to him, the simultaneity of events is just a coincidence.
