OREANDA-NEWS By the end of 2023, the total export volumes of Russian fat and oil products increased by more than a third compared to 2022 and reached the level of 11.2 million tons. This is reported by TASS with reference to statistical data from analysts of the Ministry of Agriculture (Ministry of Agriculture).

It is noted that in 12 months the export volumes of sunflower oil increased by 42 percent, rapeseed oil — by 64 percent, soybean oil — by 10 percent. According to the ministry, Russian fat and oil products are in great demand in a number of countries, including China, Turkey, Uzbekistan, as well as Middle Eastern and African states.

At the same time, the export growth trend continues in 2024. Thus, since the beginning of January, exports of fat and oil products from Russia have increased by almost 18 percent compared to the same period in 2023 and reached a level of about 1.75 million tons, the Ministry of Agriculture concluded.

Earlier, Agroexport analysts predicted record volumes of vegetable oil exports from Russia in the 2023-2024 agricultural season, which started on September 1. During this period of time, experts expect that the figure may exceed the mark of 7 million tons.
