OREANDA-NEWS  For the first time, Russia turned out to be the second largest supplier to India, according to an analysis by RIA Novosti of data from the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the South Asian state.

According to the statistics of the department, Russia's exports to India in January-March of this year increased 4.7 times compared to the same period last year and reached a record $ 15.5 billion.

China remained the main supplier of goods to this country, while its sales to India for the first quarter decreased by 15.4 percent to $ 22.6 billion. The United Arab Emirates is in third place with $12.7 billion. The fourth was the United States, whose imports by the Indian side decreased by 8.8 percent in annual terms. Saudi Arabia closes the top five, from which this state purchased goods by 10.9 percent less than a year earlier – $ 10.4 billion.

At the same time, Indian exports to Russia increased by 33 percent to $ 946.6 million, and the trade turnover of the two countries increased 4.1 times to $ 16.45 billion.

Sputnik radio reported that China warned the G7 about the consequences of banning exports to Russia.
