OREANDA-NEWS In the first half of 2026, about ten major Russian clothing and footwear brands actively sold goods with discounts from 30 to 90 percent in order to obtain some working capital. This is reported by Izvestia with reference to a study by the consulting company Commonwealth Partnership (CMWP, formerly Cushman & Wakefield).

Among the companies mentioned in the article are Gate31, Chois, Bat Norton, I Am Studio, Viva la Vika, Feelz. Denis Shevchenko, the founder of Gate31, noted on social networks that the brand's financial difficulties arose against the background of general difficulties in the market, as well as due to the desire to preserve the store network and staff until the last moment.

Chois founder Sofya Vlasova indicated in May that the company could close due to falling demand. Consumers are buying goods less frequently, the average receipt has decreased, and restrictions on social media have made it more difficult to attract new customers.
