OREANDA-NEWS   Chocolate, sweets, cookies, ice cream and many other goods will be processed and sold in China by Russian companies registered in the territory of the new Russian-Chinese commercial and industrial park in Shenyang (Liaoning Province), where a food industry zone was opened in February. This was reported to TASS on Thursday by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Shenyang Sergey Chernenko.

"The main activity of the enterprises operating within the zone will be the processing and sale of products imported from Russia, including chocolate, sweets, cookies, ice cream, milk powder, cream, honey, sausage products," the diplomat said. Subsequently, he added, it is planned to create clusters for timber processing and the manufacture of electromechanical devices.

According to Chernenko, in January and February, representatives of more than 20 Russian companies arrived in Shenyang in order to register a business in the local jurisdiction. As a rule, these are food and alcohol production enterprises that are considering the possibility of importing their products to the Chinese market. These include both regional and well-known firms in Russia and abroad, such as Plodoimport (owns the Uncle Vanya brand).

"At the same time, the potential of the park is not limited only to the import and storage of products, but also allows us to promote cooperation in the field of processing. Several companies are already planning to localize their production facilities in Shenyang," the Consul General said. According to him, many transactions will be carried out in national currencies, which indicates the further deepening of cooperation between the two countries in the financial sphere.
