OREANDA-NEWS Mikhail Glukhov, Marketing director of the Milfoods company, which bought the Finnish Paulig business in Russia and is developing a new Poetti brand, said that coffee prices in the country will rise. He told about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

Glukhov warned Russians about the rise in price of coffee and said that the cost of the product could increase by 15 percent following the growth of a similar indicator in the leading supplier countries. He explained that the prices of this product completely depend on the cost of green coffee and the world exchange. For example, India and Vietnam supply Robusta, and Brazil — Arabica.

"We are trying to somehow create stocks, produce as much as possible at the old prices… But in general, we can predict a smooth growth of 15 percent during 2023," the representative of Milfoods admitted.

The expert added that local producers are unlikely to raise coffee prices much — only if the cost of world raw materials increases. He promised to monitor the situation and assured that the Russians would not notice changes in some cases.

Earlier, Olga Belenkaya, head of the Macroeconomic analysis Department at Finam, predicted a drop in food prices in Russia. In her opinion, this can happen in the summer and autumn.
