OREANDA-NEWS  In Russia, 46,900 smartphones of domestic brands were sold in the first quarter of 2023 — 53 percent less year-on-year. Vedomosti writes about this.

According to the publication, 99,300 Russian gadgets have been sold. In particular, 47 percent fewer smartphones than a year earlier were sold on the Ozon marketplace.

Artur Makhlayuk, a business analyst at F+ tech-Marvel Group, notes that most Russian smartphones are budget devices. According to him, buyers have already closed their basic needs for inexpensive devices, so sales have fallen — preference is given to foreign brands.

Wildberries shows interest in Russian models, most often users choose smartphones from Asian brands — Xiaomi, Realme, Infinix, OPPO and Poco.

Earlier it became known that the import of gray smartphones to Russia has almost stopped. The Federal Customs Service reported that they are fighting illegal shipments as planned.
