OREANDA-NEWS  Takeaway coffee sales in Russia increased by 11 percent year-on-year. This was reported by the Kommersant newspaper with reference to the data of the OFD Platform.

At the same time, the average check increased by 12 percent, to 197 rubles. In premium networks, the increase reached 310 rubles.

It is noted that the reason for such price dynamics was the situation in Brazil and Vietnam. Due to crop failures in these two countries, stock prices for unroasted coffee have crept up. For example, Brazilian arabica rose to four dollars per pound, although last year it was about 2-2.4 dollars.

As for the consumption of this drink in Russia, it remains at a low level. If in Europe and the USA it reaches five to seven kilograms per person, then in the Russian Federation the corresponding figure is one and a half kilograms.

In early April, a forecast appeared about a 40% rise in the price of coffee in Russia in 2025. This will be the result of the drought faced by Brazilian producers. In addition, rising logistics costs, an imbalance in global supply and demand, and depletion of inventories will have an impact.
