OREANDA-NEWS In the first four months of 2026, sales of Russian fish to the European Union fell by 35 percent compared to the same period last year, to 1.65 billion euros. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to Eurostat data.

Separately, in April, exports decreased by 26 percent year—on-year and by four percent month-on-month, to 437.4 million euros. This month, Russia became the 11th largest supplier of fish to the EU, while a year earlier it was in 18th place.

Earlier it was reported that in the first five months of 2026, exports of fish and seafood from Russia to China increased by 53 percent in monetary terms, to $2.06 billion.

At the same time, in May, Georgia increased fish exports to Russia to the highest value in monetary terms in the entire history of statistical observations — $ 1.3 million.
