OREANDA-NEWS   Samsung became the leader in Russia among brands in terms of sales in the secondary smartphone market in 2022, however, the most popular model was the iPhone 7 from a competitor company, follows from the materials of Megafon.

"Samsung is the leader among the brands by the end of the year, its share in sales in the secondary market is 35.5%. This may be due to a wider model range in various price categories. Apple devices are on the second line (28%), and Xiaomi closes the top 3 of the rating (15%)," the study says. It is noted that in the second and third quarters of last year, customers purchased mainly iPhone models, but in the fourth quarter they switched to smartphones running on the Android operating system. The company believes that the decline in interest in the American brand is due to the saturation of the Russian market with new Apple smartphones after their short-term shortage. But this did not prevent the Apple model from topping the top in sales. "By the end of 2022, the iPhone 7 has become the most popular among refurbished smartphones. Its cost is the lowest in the Apple line on the secondary market. The top five includes two more Apple models – iPhone 8 and iPhone XR. The second and third lines were taken by Samsung Galaxy A10 and Xiaomi Redmi 9A," the study adds.

As the company stressed, flagship models of the high price category are most often bought on the secondary market, but there are exceptions – for example, the Huawei Y5p smartphone worth less than 10 thousand rubles entered the top 10 popular devices.
