OREANDA-NEWS The draft law on quotas for Russian wine in stores and catering establishments has been criticized by restaurateurs and retailers as technically unfeasible and economically impractical. This is reported by Kommersant.

The document suggests that domestic products should account for at least 20 percent of the total number of product items in the category. The comments were submitted by a working group under the Government commission on administrative reform in the field of trade and consumer protection.

In particular, the appeal sent to the head of the project office for the implementation of the reform of control and supervisory activities under the Government of Russia, Chulpan Gossamova, was signed by the head of the Association of Retail Trade Companies (ACORT) Stanislav Bogdanov.

It says that the share of Russian wines in volume exceeds 60 percent and continues to grow, but in terms of assortment it is only 13 percent.
