OREANDA-NEWS  The volume of direct imports of vegetables and fruits from China through the international checkpoint "Kani-Kurgan" (RF) - "Heihe" (PRC) exceeded 700 tons. The import of these products was allowed from January 30, 2023, it was reported on Wednesday in the Telegram channel of the Rosselkhoznadzor for the Amur Region and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

"Since the start of deliveries of fruit and vegetable products from China through the Kani-Kurgan checkpoint, 40 shipments of vegetables, fruits and greens with a total weight of over 700 tons have been received in the Amur Region. This became possible due to the fact that from January 30, "Kani-Kurgan" was included in the All-Russian list of border crossings through which the import of vegetables, fruits and herbs is allowed (amendments to the decree of the Government of Russia No. 442 of June 3, 2011)," the message says.

The first direct deliveries of fruit and vegetable products from China were carried out on February 11. The Amur Region received carrots, cabbage, peppers, eggplants, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, onions, fresh garlic, mushrooms and ginger. Pineapples, kiwis, apples, pears, mangoes, strawberries, melons, tangerines, pomelo and grapes were also imported. Celery, coriander and lettuce were delivered from the green crops.

The products have passed the primary phytosanitary control. According to the results of laboratory studies, a quarantine organism was detected in two batches - a virus of brown wrinkling of tomato fruits, which worsens the quantitative and qualitative indicators of tomato and pepper yields. Infected batches were banned from being released into free circulation. The rest of the fruit and vegetable products have been released into circulation.
